Launching Ottawa’s ACE District

ASA Live produced the official launch of Ottawa’s first Arts, Culture and Entertainment District for the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Art Gallery. Instead of a standard press conference and ribbon cutting, we built something closer to a moving arts festival through the ByWard Market.

The afternoon opened at the Ottawa Sign with an Honour Song, formal remarks and a screen countdown. A brass band then led guests through the district, stopping for a cello performance from the Lookout balcony, artist and curator talks, dancers emerging from the market stalls, and a surprise percussion and DJ set by Funkylev from the Ottawa School of Art steps. The public program ended beneath a balloon arch with live music and sparkler effects. Dignitaries, cultural leaders and invited guests then continued to a private reception at Luxe Bistro.

ASA Live shaped the concept and managed the full production, including site and route planning, permits, staging, screens, sound, performers, vendors, media logistics, guest movement and live show calling across every stop. The launch received coverage from CBC, CTV and Rogers Community News.
